Advanced Smart Mobility Deploys Cerence Emergency Vehicle Detection in Autonomous Buses Across Japan
Cerence Inc. announced that Advanced Smart Mobility Co., Ltd. (AS Mobi) is deploying Cerence Emergency Vehicle Detection (EVD) technology in its autonomous bus platform for field trials across Japan. The Audio AI solution detects approaching emergency vehicles (ambulances, police cars, fire engines) to help autonomous vehicles respond safely. This marks Cerence's first autonomous bus program in Japan, with commercial deployment targeted for 2027.
